Engine Block Maker Quest
Trying to figure out who made the block/motor for Westerbeke who marinized it into the W27. The stocker alternator is a Mitsubishi M65R, leading me to believe it's a Mitsubishi block.
Might also be a British Leyland block?
Engine oil and filter change - Engine hours 2760 8/21/10
Changed oil as it had sat all winter. Replaced with FRAM PH3593A.
Used hand pump from Advance Auto with 1/4 nipple connected to sump hose. Worked better than the drill pump but still pretty messy.
Have 4 spare oil filters on board and 4 gallons of fresh oil. Walmart had oil for $8.50 and filters $3.75

Heat Exchanger Rebuild - $360 Refunded
Water was no longer flowing out of wet exhaust. After checking the impeller and ensuring flow to the heat exchanger, I pulled it off to be rebuilt. It was rebuilt in Dallas by Superior Cooling. Cleaned rebuilt, and given a red epoxy coat.
Rebuild failed, got money back plus rebuilt properly as spare. Stored under quarterberth

Oil and Filter Change - 2731 Hours - 7/25/09
First change on motor. Put on Wix Filter. Used drill driven pump, worked well but it was fairly messy. Need to find a hose that I can connect to the sump line that let's it be run into to bilge where I can put bottle to catch.
